Wednesdays are becoming our "field trip" day and on the 22nd of July I took Alex and his friend Matthew to the Montauk Lighthouse for the day and then to the beach for some swimming and fun!!
We started our day with a visit to the Lighthouse where we climbed to the top of the lighthouse and looked out over the ocean, it was a beautiful sight to see...all of God's creation in full glory to see and enjoy!
We climbed down and visited the gift shop and then went back to the car and drove into town to find a beach to swim at and there are plenty of spots in Montauk to do just that! The boys enjoyed running from the crashing waves and I enjoyed watching them and taking some pictures.
On the drive back home we stopped at Carvel and ended our perfect day with a ton of delicious ice cream, what more could a kid ask for on a hot summer day?

Linda, that sounds like you and Alex had a great day!! I saw Montauk and immediately thought about our family fishing trips to Montauk State Park in central Missouri - no swimming, strictly a fishing park - wonderful memories we will always share!!
Oh what beautiful pictures! Looks like some awesome scrapbooking ahead!
What a fun day! And I love how that picture looks like a GIANT bird! LOL
This looks like FUN! And, that bird shot is AWESOME!!!
