June, already???

Time has a way of getting away from us, doesn't it? Honestly for me this blog was always for mom to be able to see my scrapbooking pages from her home in Florida but I have kept it going for myself in order to remember things that I do on a day to day basis so that I can scrapbook them when the time comes. It really is nice to look back and read things that I did a couple of years back and take a solo trip down memory lane over my morning coffee.

I have noticed that a lot of my friends who have blogged have let them go and haven't blogged in a long time, is this a trend? Are people getting away from their daily, weekly or even monthly journaling or is everyone just too busy these days to jot down a few moments of their lives?

For me I guess it might be a little of both as I've been constantly doing things every single day and never sit idle for too long. I marked the anniversary of mom's passing on to heaven by planting some flowers for her. In the past I have had trouble with the deer munching away at everything I planted and mom used to laugh at me because I would plant things and water them and be so happy with the results only to return a few days later to find everything GONE!! Poor dad, his grave was always bare because the plot is near the woods and I guess the animals were just too close and would be hungry!

A friend of mine told me about the fact that deer do not like cone flowers so I went to the nursery and was thrilled to find PURPLE ones and since that was one of mom's favorite colors it was just meant to be! They are the tall plants that have no flowers on them yet, the flowers have not bloomed as yet and they are perennials so I'm hoping that they will come back year after year with any luck! I went back a few days later and they were still standing so I'm hopeful. I also planted the pretty little purple and pink annuals for added color and hope that they don't take a hit from the local critters there.

Stay tuned...I will keep you posted.
