Here is a fun way to cut up a picture. I took a picture of Alex in the ocean and trimmed it into different circles and then added them back into the original photo. I used some of the cut pieces and added them to the top. I also added another oval cropped photo of the same area to the side and then I embellished with some 'splash' stickers. I create the wave borders with a wave cutting tool from Creative Memories which I finally ordered yesterday so I'm looking forward to getting that.

A cute snowman border

Just wanted to share a couple more things I did
yesterday at my crop. This was a border class
that she taught us and I just love the way it
turned out.

These little snowmen are made from white
square punches that are rounded at the
bottom with a corner rounder.

The hats are black square punches that are
cut into strips and glued to the top of the head.
Draw on the little eyes and noses and add some
cute stickers to decorate, add a little marker to
connect them and they are done!

Great afternoon of cropping

I went to a holiday open house at my CM consultant's house today and I had a wonderful time chatting, cropping and snacking. She did a border's class with us which I loved doing and I started working on my Hawaii pictures.

One of the photo techniques I was happy to use today was something I saw in a book a while ago on using photos in different ways. In this picture of Jim the background was blurry so I cut him out of the picture and added him to another beach photo of the same area we were at that day. I then matted it on a sandy colored background paper and I like the way it turned out.

Santa came early!

I am happy to say that Christmas came a little early for me and that's because of a great sale at AC Moore this weekend. Jim said I could go ahead and pick up the Cricut for my christmas present and not only was it marked down to only $179 but it also came with a really nice messenger bag!! =) I already used it last night to complete a layout I had been working on and I love the way it turned out!

What great stuff I got in the mail yesterday. I've been getting some really good deals on Ebay and purchasing multiple items from one seller saves you on shipping costs, too. I got this cool new paper for Robert's deployment book.


I also got this great embellishment pack that I wasn't sure how I was going to use it or for what book or subject but check out the picture I took of Daisy this weekend. This stuff is going to be perfect for it!!

Wow, what a great layout I saw on the Caroll Duvall show this morning, I had to print it out and I can't wait to try it!! I am really excited that my local HGTV is now carrying DIY Scrapbooking with Sandi Genovese at 10:30 each morning during the week, that is a great show that I have watched while visiting my mom and had my sister tape a bunch of episodes for me. Now I can actually watch it on my own tv at home!

Organizing my paper

So today I had a little block of time to spare and I decided that I better organize my paper so that I know more of what I have and might need for the projects I want to complete. I think I am pretty set in the military/patriotic paper department but I seem to always be looking for more. I wonder if it's all about the 'collecting'?? :-D
